Finance Intern

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and review of Annual Report to Shareholders, including:
- Review of schedules of investments, financial statements, financial highlights and notes
- Verify non-income producing securities
- Assist in setting up options disclosure per new FAS 161 requirement
- Assist in calculation of income and expense ratios, portfolio turnover percentage and net investment income per share
- Analyze foreign securities to determine PFIC (Passive Foreign Investment Co) status
- Update Fair Valuation Summary for quarterly mutual fund Board Report
- Assist in data entry of N-SAR Annual Report for Registered Investment Companies to be filed with the Securities & Exchange Commission
- Prepare list of current foreign sub-custodians utilized by Funds for N-SAR Report
- Analyze investments in brokerage firms for N-SAR inclusion
- 10 or more hours per week, unpaid
Secondary Responsibilities (as time allows):
- Assist in monthly reconciliations – Realized Gain/Loss, Cost roll forward, and holdings
- Assist in quarterly compliance testing
- Assist in compilation/verification of daily fund packages
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytic skills
- High integrity, trustworthiness and ethical standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; attention to detail
- Sound and accurate judgment
- Proactive, innovative, resourceful
- Positive attitude; team player
